Born in Weehawken, NJ of Italian/Colombian descent, GIUSEPPE D. is a man with many hats. Producer, Songwriter, Remixer, Programmer and Engineer, he has been in the game for many years as he still continues to perfect his crafts. It was while living in Miami, FL that he first started on his road to success in the music business. As a hotbed for dance music in the mid eighties, Giuseppe worked with Miami’s “who’s who” of dance royalty. Pepe, as he is known to his friends, returned to the New York City area on Labor Day Weekend of 1991 to further pursue his career. After enrolling at the Center for the Media Arts to fine tune his musical and technical knowledge, he soon met up with the Brandt Brothers to form B Squared D Productions. The trio scored with their own “Turnaround (And Walk Away)” as The bdb movement feat. Terrell, as well as artists Dare 2 B Dif’rent and Caught In The Act. At this time, Giuseppe D. began to do solo productions also. His production of “I Could Be This…” by Androgeny feat. Michael M. (Strictly Rhythm) became a major house hit in the US and a pop hit in the UK and abroad. After amicably splitting with the twins, Giuseppe caught the attention of legendary producer Tony Moran with his Billboard Chart- topper “Descarga!” by LatinXpress (RAM/Popular). Tony was so impressed with his work, he hired Pepe as an in-house producer and programmer. It was there where he had the pleasure of working many major releases from artists such as The Real McCoy, Jon Secada, Cyndi Lauper, Luther Vandross, Gloria Estefan and Celine Dion. After working with Tony Moran, and other legendary producers such as Jonathan Peters and Soul Solution, Giuseppe found himself as a self-contained music factory that has had experience, if not success in every aspect of music production. He became an accomplished remixer working on hot chart-topping singles such as “Dark Beat” by Oscar G. & Ralph Falcon (Twisted), “Give It Up” by Kevin Aviance (Emerge), “They-Say Vision” by Res (MCA), just to name a few. He also has a talent for Latin remixes working on top Latin artists such as Juanes, Luis Fonsi, the late Celia Cruz and Elvis Crespo, scoring with the worldwide hit “Suavamente” (Sony Discos). With remixing as his bread and butter, and songwriting and production as his heart, Giuseppe D. continues to hone his skills and produce his own artists. He has also been nominated in the ‘Best Producer’ category at the 2003 International Dance Music Awards, which takes place in Miami at the Winter Music Conference. Being nominated with the likes of The Neptunes, Thunderpuss, and Masters At Work, Giuseppe feels truly honored. With a new inspired energy, and knowledgeable experience under his belt, it is no doubt this is only the beginning of a successful new ride for Giuseppe D.
