Laissez Faire consists of the three very talented divas -- Gina, Jennifer and Marlo. Before the group came to be, Marlo and Jen had went to the same high school together and both were aware of each other's artistic talents. Through Jen's sister, she had met Albert LaSerra, who was writing some songs for a label and the two later ended up recording some demos together. Albert later introduced Jen to Gina, whom he had met from the Bronx and was recording some demos with also. Around that time, Metropolitan Records was looking for three girls who could fill the spot of a 3-girl group that had previously broken up (the first members of Laissez Faire had broken up right after recording "After the Lovin." By this time, Jen had lost touch with her high school friend, Marlo. But as fate would have it, Albert LaSerra had known Marlo since she was a young teenager living on the same street as he did. Albert, who was called in by the label after the break up of the first Laissez Faire, suggested Marlo, who was already filling in for the group (Marlo initially stepped in as one of the replacements for the previous lineup of Laissez Faire to do a show for the label in California) to be the third member of Laissez Faire and complete the picture. Although the three girls were all working with the same producer, it wasn't until later that they had auditioned as a trio. The three joined forces, went out and auditioned for the part of Laissez Faire and were offered a contract right on the spot. And together, as a trio, the girls released their debut album entitled "Hands Off," which brought about the timeless classic hits, such as "To Be In Your Arms," "Swept Away," and the classic jam, "In Paradise." So where are they now you ask? Well, the three are still performing under the name Laissez Faire for huge events, such as Club Exit's Freestyle reunion concert, which was held in May of 2000, as well as KTU's Beatstock concert -- also held that same year.
