The Rios Sisters made up of twins Awilda and Mildred. Rios were born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and are of Puerto Rican descent. They first started performing at age five when their mother enrolled them in ballet classes. The sisters performed all through their school years but did not start professionally until they began singing back-ups in New York clubs such as Limelight, Cat Club and Passions. They later met Mickey Garcia and Elvin Molina (producers of Judy Torres) who signed them on MicMac records as one of the label's first recording artists. Together Awilda and Mildred wrote and arranged their first release entitled "You". This release took the sisters to perform not only in New York, but also in Puerto Rico, Florida, and California. Subsequently this sexy duo released their other previous hits, "Hold Me", "Are You Looking For Love", and "I Don't Want You Back". All of these releases were written and arranged by the Rios Sisters (except "Are You Looking For Love"). The Rios Sisters love to perform and combine their own unique image with strong audience participation. "We believe that people need to feel our songs because they all convey a positive message", say the sisters. They have been featured in Television and films such as Celebrity, Last Days Of Disco, Bamboozled, A Further Gesture, Central Park West, and New York Undercover and in commercials like Fired-Up.com, and Singing Tang.
